Briefing

Description
The Plaster Room allows for the application of plaster or other splints and for the closed reduction of displaced fractures or dislocations under sedative or regional anaesthesia.
Hours of Operation
Up to 24 hours (dependent on unit operating hours)
Occupancy
1 patient; 1 visitor; up to 4 staff
Additional Considerations
~ Typically provided as a dedicated room for high volume services, otherwise, a generic Treatment Room may be used with the inclusion of a plaster trap and other specific plastering equipment. ~ The cast saw shall incorporate an integrated dust extraction system or the room shall have an independent dust extraction system suitably located to capture the dust at source. A room exhaust shall also be included to prevent dust from entering adjacent spaces. ~ The plaster trap shall be easily accessible for cleaning and maintenance.
