Description

An Ensuite - Birthing Room is for a mother to wash, shower and use the toilet, either independently or with assistance. During labour, the shower may be used for extended periods to manage pain and two shower heads are provided to support this.

Additional Considerations

~ The area and layout must accommodate an assisting midwife and a support person. ~ The Ensuite - Birthing will have direct access from the Birthing Room. ~ The shower floor must not have a raised hob and the entrance to the ensuite is to be flush with the adjoining flooring. ~ A ladder or other wall mounted supportive fixtures may be included to provide support at various heights and facilitate different postures during active birthing. A birthing woman's entire weight may be supported on this item, therefore the strength of the item and fixings, including in-wall support, to be equivalent to heavy duty grab rails. Item to be suitable for wet area.
